This year marks the fourth year Cat Lift Trucks has provided college scholarships and the first year to designate one of the awards to a student who will attend a vocational school.

"At Cat Lift Trucks, we value the pursuit of higher education and want to reward strong students and leaders for their accomplishments," said Kent Eudy, vice president of marketing.

Cat Lift Trucks will award the academic scholarships to two outstanding high school seniors from public and/or private schools within Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller Counties. Recipients will be chosen based on academic record, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and a narrative response.

Outstanding senior from 2007 and scholarship winner Robert Prendergrast, a graduate from James E. Taylor High School, is using the scholarship money to help him pursue a degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M in College Station. "With two older sisters at A&M, the Cat Lift Trucks scholarship has helped subsidize the financial strain on my family and is enabling me to pursue an education in a field I love at a school I love," said Prendergrast.

Deadline to receive applications is April 4, 2008. This year's recipients will be honored at the Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship Reception on May 23.
